* An evening with Dr. Colin Prosser *

An evenings talk by Colin Prosser on The History of Geological Conservation.
With a brief insight into Colin’s career below:
“’Originally from Dudley, in the Black Country, where his interest in geology developed, Colin studied geology at Manchester University and then went on to do a PhD on Inferior Oolite rhynchonellid brachiopods under Professor Derek Ager at Swansea. After a brief stint in an oil consultancy, Colin joined the Nature Conservancy Council in Peterborough and has worked in geological conservation for more than 25 years. He is currently Natural England’s Principal Specialist for Geoconservation as well as being President of the Geologists’ Association, a role he took up in May last year’.”
The event on Wednesday the 8th of February 2017 is free to members of The Stamford and District Geological Society. And for visitors a charge of £3 please. You can also apply for membership on the night.
